Appointment of Director of Golf
Club newssheet issued in June 2010 outlined the sequence of events leading to Kareela Golf & Social Club assuming responsibility from Sutherland Council for locating and appointing a professional golfer as Director of Golf for our club. Your Board has, with support from the PGA, expedited the process, as it was firmly believed that employing the right person in the Pro Shop would be vital to our future development.
We received seven (7) applications for the position, from which a short list of three was selected. All candidates had excellent, if somewhat varied background and experience. All were interviewed at length by the Board, and we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Shaun O’Toole as Director of Golf for Kareela Golf
Club.
Shaun is a most experienced Club Pro, having operated the Pro Shop at Shellharbour for many years. He is also a very accomplished golf coach, and his CV includes many young golfers who have gone on to play at state level or higher. He is a most friendly and engaging personality, who obviously enjoys his chosen profession.
We know that you will give Shaun your support as he gets to know you and our great little course as we grow together over the coming years. Shaun will be at the Club from late afternoon on Tuesday 3rd August to meet both Lady Members and Members. He starts as our Club Pro on Monday 9th August.
Shaun will be assisted in the Pro Shop by Todd Minogue. Todd has a golf teaching accreditation, has completed part of a traineeship and has experience in a golf retail environment. We believe that we have a very strong team in the Pro Shop to look after the golfing needs of our members.
