To our Charity Golf Day participants,
Kareela Golf & Social Club Ltd would like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors and guests for taking part in this year’s Charity Golf Day. The day was a tremendous success and thanks to the generous and kind support we received from each and everyone who participated in the day.
The amazing amount of $17,000.00 was raised.
Bates Drive School was overwhelmed by the scale of the event and
truly thankful to you all for your contributions.
Bates Drive School….
… is a dynamic special school that clearly demonstrates and promotes a quality-learning environment where students are given every opportunity to achieve their personal best. The school provides an environment which is safe, secure and where students experience success in their individualised learning.
Bates Drive School is located in Kareela, a suburb of the Sutherland Shire and services the learning and welfare needs of up to 64 students between the ages of 4 -18 years. The school prides itself on providing an inclusive learning and teaching environment for students who have complex disabilities and function in the moderate to severe range of intellectual disability, often coupled with autism and/or a physical disability.
The student population at Bates Drive School present with a wide range of learning and social needs. Responsive programs are to be implemented to ensure ongoing improvement in student achievement in all aspects of their school life. A focus on communication, mobility, integration and community involvement will form an essential part of the programs delivered to meet the specific needs of each student. This is achieved through individual collaborative curriculum planning with a focus on quality teaching and learning.
The principal, Robyn Compton said the money raised would go towards purchasing electronic whiteboards.

We must also say a big thank you to our Golf Day committee who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. A big thank you to our wonderful members and volunteers for their outstanding contribution.
Congratulations to our winners on the day and to all those who won prizes in the on course games and activities.
We are sending this letter to all the team captains and ask that you please pass this on to all your team members. We did collect some business cards on the day and would like to contact these people for future events organised by Kareela Golf Club.
